Gas Prices Too High Now is the Time for a Different Journey

lass="floatingright"> Before you set foot on the path toward the kingdom of God, let Jesus do the walking. Journey on the Kingdom Road (paperback, 1-60034-534-4) is Bud Surles' interpretation of a Christian's life journey as seen through the teachings of Jesus and the Sermon on the Mount. The book, a product of 15 years of intensive study, is a comprehensive presentation of the Sermon on the Mount. Like a long road trip, it begins with planning, using maps and rest stops, and ends at a crossroads where every sojourner must choose his or her final destination.

A former Rocky Mountain guide and outfitter found a new journey and a new life through "the greatest Sermon ever preached." From that message, Bud Surles' life was transformed and he began a journey that has led to international speaking engagements and developer of a highly acclaimed resort in Texas.

"Christian books are flooding the bestseller lists, yet application of Christian principles in daily life are simultaneously declining at alarming rates," says Surles. "Until we see the connection between what Christ taught and how we are to live, and what that means to a quality of life on earth and eternity, this trend is destined to continue." This connect-the-dot approach explains with clarity Jesus' teachings and how they relate to our lives. Kingdom living, as readers will discover, is not just a lifestyle--it is a journey of the heart. And Surles would know. The lay pastor and influence business leader has taught the principles of Journey throughout the United States, in Central America, and in the South Pacific.

Bud Surles has lived the journey he writes about. He grew up on a dusty West Texas farm, worked as a Rocky Mountain guide and outfitter, served as an executive in both state and national parks, answered the call to pulpit ministry for 15 years, and returned to business where he applies what he teaches. He received a Bachelor of Science degree at Texas A&M University, a Master of Divinity at Texas Christian University, and a Doctor of Ministry at Denver Seminary. He has been a featured speaker on statewide and regional Christian radio and a contributor to the Billings Gazette and other newspapers.

Xulon Press is the world's largest Christian publisher, with more than 2,700 titles published to date. Retailers may order Journey on the Kingdom Road through Amazon and Barnes and Nobles websites, Ingram Book Company and/or Spring Arbor Book Distributors.
