The Country:

A beautiful land of mountains, volcanoes and lakes with ancient colonial villages and Mayan ruins. Belonging to 60 different people groups, residents of Guatemala speak more than 42 distinct languages, but most people know Spanish because it is the country’s official language. Our team will serve primarily in Guatemala City and nearby villages where many still wear their traditional tribal garb.

The Ministry:

Friendly by nature, it’s easy to meet people and initiate conversations in Guatemala. While many of the Guatemalans consider themselves Christians, a great number of them are only Christians in a cultural sense and do not have a personal relationship with Jesus. The people are open-minded, and both school and government officials welcome Christianity so the doors are wide open to share your faith. All it takes is a one-on-one conversation with a missionary like you to help Guatemalan students bridge the gap from religion to relationship. Be prepared for the Lord to use you to bring light into spiritual darkness!
