Valor Kenya 2024

The Country:

This missions week, you will have an opportunity to serve in Kenya, a beautiful country that is stable but faces many challenges.  Widespread poverty, spreading urban slums and need for land reform create tension in Kenyan Society. There are 74 different languages spoken in Kenya and many of these ethnic groups clash over limited resources.

The Ministry:

The team will be working in and around Kambiri with our One 2 One school partner. While there, they may be involved in sharing the Gospel through community development projects, tutoring
students, food distribution and assisting teachers in schools. They will be working with the local missionaries to bring the hope of the Gospel to all!

Fundraising Goal:​

  • Beaverton Campus: $3395 *Launch City is Portland, OR

  • Valor Global Online: $3295 *Launch City is Portland, OR

  • Valor Korea: $1395

 

Trip Cost Information:

  • Trip cost includes airfare from launch city, all ground transportation, on-location meals, lodging, leadership cost, ministry training, safari adventure, and ministry supplies.

  • Trip cost does not include passport fees, souvenirs, baggage fees, international insurance, airport meals, and Kenya eTA (electronic Travel Authorization).

  • Donations to RIM are tax-deductible because RIM is a registered 501(c)3 organization. All funds raised toward the project are non-refundable and non-transferable.

How To Go:

Click apply, choose "Valor School" under group name then choose your school location. List your top 2 choices of destination. If you are wanting to join the Kenya trip, you should list Kenya as Choice #1.

  • Application will open at 7 pm September 15th Pacific Daylight Time

  • $95 deposit due with application to secure your spot

  • Once accepted, you will receive access to your online account and the acceptance packet 

  • Please note: Proof of Yellow Fever vaccination and eTA (electronic Travel Authorization) are required to enter the country

  • The application will close on September 29th

Deadlines: Fundraising amounts and deadlines are based on your campus location.

November 15th: First fundraising deadline

December 15th: Second fundraising deadline, Passport Upload, and International Insurance Purchase

February 15th: Final fundraising deadline and RIM Consent Form due, and Yellow Fever Certificate Upload

February 22nd: extended for eTA (electronic Travel Authorization) -
