Immerse Yourself. Encounter Others. Introduce Christ.
Breathtaking Caribbean coastline, bordered by Mexico on the north and Guatemala to the west and south, Belize attracts many travelers to its bright beaches and biodiversity. It is home to the 2nd largest barrier reef in the world and an abundance of wildlife and cultures. Belize City, where ministry will be based, hides a stark contrast to the advertised Caribbean paradise with ramshackle wood buildings ravaged by hurricanes, fish markets, and stagnant drainage canals.
Wealth disparity in Belize is severe and exploitation continues to threaten the 41% of the population that lives below the poverty line. Though a large percentage of Belize natives name Christianity as their own, moral corruption leaves a path of broken lives and families longing for the healing truth of the Gospel. In addition, long-held traditions and Mayan paganism lurk just beneath the carefree surface of the Caribbean culture.
